Husband Wakes Up After Wedding Day Tragedy To Prepare For Wife’s Funeral
Aric Hutchinson, a man who tragically lost his wife on their wedding day, has awoken and is now making arrangements for her funeral.
Samantha Miller, 34, was killed in a car accident just moments after she and Aric left their wedding reception.
The incident occurred on a South Carolina beach road when Jamie Lee Komoroski, who was allegedly driving under the influence, crashed into the back of a golf cart carrying Samantha and Aric.
According to investigators, Komoroski was driving at 65mph in a 25mph zone and hit the brakes just before the collision occurred at around 10 pm on Friday, April 28th at Folly Beach.
Samantha’s death was later confirmed by the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
Aric, along with his brother-in-law Ben Garrett and nephew Brogan, were also injured in the accident which occurred on a golf cart.
The golf cart was legally equipped with lights and could be driven at night, according to Folly Beach Public Safety Department director Andrew Gilreath.
Komoroski, who was 25 years old, has been charged with reckless vehicular homicide and three counts of driving under the influence causing death. Each DUI count could carry a sentence of one to 25 years in prison.
A GoFundMe page has been established by Annette Hutchinson, Aric’s mother, to raise funds for Samantha’s funeral expenses.
According to the page, Aric sustained multiple injuries in the accident, including two broken legs, one of which required surgery.
He also suffered fractures to his facial bones, which also required surgery, a broken vertebrae in his back, brain bleeds, and several cuts that required stitches.
On the GoFundMe page, Annette wrote: “On April 28th, what started as the happiest day for Aric and Sam ended with a tragedy.”
“We are missing Sam more than anything, she instantly fit into our family from the first day Aric and Sam met, she was everything to my son and changed him for the better.”
“She could light up a room with her presence and had an ease about her. They shared many hopes and dreams for their future including children and building a house.”
“[Aric] is physically recovering at home while trying to come to terms with the loss of his beautiful wife.”
“Now he is doing the unimaginable of planning Sam’s funeral along with her family.”
“We wish to thank everyone who has given us hope through thoughtful words of encouragement and generous donations.”
“Also, our hearts go out to the first on the scene, first responders, the police, and all the staff at MUSC hospital, we are forever changed by the love we have received.”
As of writing this, over $700,000 has been raised.
